I was looking for a way to carry SR/LR mags in a chest rig that was simple and cost effective. This popped up and offered some additional capabilities in other platforms (5.56 and whatnot) and I liked the minimalist approach to the rig in general.
For civilian / LEO purposes, I do not need a loadout that consists of 180 rounds or 5.56 or 120 rounds of .308 on my chest, so the chest rig and this panel seemed like a good fit for my AR10 style rifle with three mags.
Three mags of 20rnd or 25rnd PMAGS is an easy job for this rig. The rig will only hold 3 of these mags. Six of these mags would be cumbersome and too heavy. The pull tabs are loose, but that is easily remedied.
What blows my WTF meter to the red is SIX pistol magazines.
WHY? Four would have been acceptable, but unneeded.
I was really hoping for a GP / GPS or Skittles pocket in the middle. Two more magazine pouches instead.
Most people who are under 60 are still using high capacity pistols to back up other weapons systems. I love my 1911 and have enough mags to carry six in this rig, but I work with and would rather carry a high cap 9mm, like normal earth people.
Condor, NO ONE needs six pistol mag pouches on a chest rig and Now I have to rip out the center pouch and resew it into something useful.
Put a M14 Kangaroo panel together instead or a triple panel w/ MOLLE.
Otherwise the rig seems serviceable and useful. Time will tell on that front.
